Research Day 2014, on October 1, is a graduate student driven initiative, with the focus on “Gearing for a Sustainable Future”. The event aims to:
- showcase the research work conducted at engineering departments of UBC
- enhance academia-industry relationship/partnerships at the graduate level
- facilitate networking and catalyze collaboration
The two keynote speeches by Caltech’s Professor Michael Hoffmann, a world-renowned researcher in environmental science & engineering, and Dr. Roger Gaudreault, Corporate Director of Cascades Canada and a preeminent innovator in the pulp & paper industry, will be the premier attractions of the day. This full day event will also feature technical presentations, panel discussions on job search for graduate students, industry exhibition as well as poster presentation sessions and networking.
Participants (minimum of 100): graduate students, researchers, post-doctoral fellows and faculty members as well as industry and community representatives.
Register by September 12th to enter to a draw prize! There will also be awards for the top two oral and top three poster presentations.
