Faculty Interviews – Dr. Jonathan Verrett

Dr. Jonathan Verrett has been  appointed as Instructor I in our Department. This position’s  primary focus is  to  enhance the design and laboratory experience of our students. Dr. Verrett received a BEng (McGill, 2011) and a PhD (McGill, 2016) degree in Chemical Engineering. During his Doctoral studies he was involved in many teaching initiatives at McGill as a Tomlinson Teaching Fellow  in addition to serving as TA.

Dr. Verrret received numerous Honours and Awards and among them the Faculty of Engineering Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award, NSERC Doctoral scholarship, McGill Engineering Award, and the two awards for being top student in chemical engineering (Society of Chemical Industry Merit Award and British Society Medal). Dr. Verrett has been very active with Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Canada, is fluent in English and French and has 17 years experience as bagpiping and member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Pipe Band.
