CHBE Research Day is an annual graduate student driven initiative. The Research Day event aims to:
- showcase the research work conducted at engineering departments of UBC
- enhance academia-industry relationship/partnerships at the graduate level
- facilitate networking and catalyze collaboration
Research Day 2016 was held on Thursday, February 11th with the theme “Energy Solutions for Sustainable Future”. This full day event showcased the quality of research work by engineering students in the Faculty of Applied Science in the form of three-minute-thesis competition and poster session. It also featured two keynote speeches, technical presentations, a panel discussion on job search strategy for graduate students, an industry exhibition and lots of networking opportunities. This event attracted a minimum of 100-150 students, researchers and faculty members from UBC Engineering departments as well as industry and community representatives. Participants had the chance to present their work, expand their professional networks and explore collaboration/hiring opportunities.
