Admissions

Students complete one year of general engineering studies at either UBC campus (Vancouver or Okanagan) or in one of the recognized engineering transfer programs at BC colleges before applying for entry to the Chemical & Biological Engineering Department programs.  Admission is competitive and only a limited number of seats are available.

Completing a B.A.Sc. degree after the first general year of studies takes an additional three years or an additional four years if one participates in the co-operative education work experience program.

At the end of first year, engineering students are asked to submit an online Program Preference Form indicating the departments they are most interested in.  Placement into programs is very competitive and based on academic performance. The online form must be completed by April 30.
