Announcing Our Award Recipients of the CHBE Awards for Breakthrough Innovations and Engineering Leadership
In April, we challenged our Chemical and Biological Engineer students to apply their unique knowledge to propose new technologies that can help with responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and the effect it is having on society. Over 40 of our students, both undergraduate and graduate, rose to meet that challenge in impressive and truly innovative ways, offering their ideas in the form of both individual and team submissions. Each and every one of them is deserving of our thanks and praise. Today, more than ever, our world and all life on it need their help and leadership in addressing the tremendous challenges we now face.
After careful consideration by our faculty panel of judges of the many deserving submissions, we are pleased to announce the following recipients of the 2020 CHBE Awards in Breakthrough Innovations and Engineering Leadership:
Jessica Leony, Kenneth Febian and Seline Choe (Team Submission)
Michael Halim, Paramjeet Arora, and Wendie Wu (Team Submission)
Rana Ahmed Barghout
Congratulations to all the award recipients on this richly deserved honor, made all the more so by the many other excellent submissions and the outstanding quality of the entire group of applicants.
The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering thanks everyone who submitted a project for inspiring us in showing how Chemical and Biological Engineers will pave the way to a brighter, healthier future for all.
